"Appalling cust service, COMPUTER SAYS NO!!!.."
I had an unannounced visit from someone purporting to be from Openreach on a Sunday morning, wearing casual clothing and a landyard that anyone with a laminator could have knocked up in seconds. They wanted me to put my signature on an A4 form (not very official looking) requesting permission to work on a telephone pole on my property. I wanted to make sure that this was genuinely an Openreach request and therefore did not sign the form at that time. A few days later after I'd satisfied myself that there was no harm involved, I gave verbal permission over the phone for thexwork to be carried out with the agreement that the written consent form would be picked up later in the week. The work was duly carried out - no problems here - engineers very pleasant. There was no follow up from the initiating officer (there is a payment due to me for granting consent). Without contact details, I have spent several days unsuccessfully trying to get to someone in Openreach who could either put me in touch with the officer (from a local telephone exchange) or could deal with the issue. All if the phone numbers listed on their website simply tells you to go to their website to pursue your enquiry, then disconnects the call. Their chatbot has limited options, none of which related to my issue. I tried sending my enquiry to multiple email addresses in the hope that a human would understand my issue and provide some progress towards a solution but the standard response was "you have requested (here they inserted something which bore no relation to my issue) and we cannot help you with this" followed by a standard list of links, all of which I'd already tried and which have the same response. I tried appealing to the agents sending these replies to read my emails carefully and not just to send an unrelated response but I kept getting more of the same. Nor would they provide details of their formal written complaints procedure. I eventually found that their chatbot does have a section for complaints but this avenue was cut short, saying that we do not have your customer number or other excuses not to deal with the customer, quoting all the links that had already proved unsuccessful. For a communication company, their customer support service is appalling. It is quite clear they do not wish you to deal with a human who might attempt to understand your problem or are enabled to help you, esp if your enquiry is anything other than in their standard delivery. I didn't choose to transact with Openreach, they came to me, but once they got what they wanted, they left me adrift. Openreach's customer facing managers should be thoroughly ashamed!!I finally made contact with the initiating officer by calling round phone numbers on my mobile which I didn't recognise. Hopefully this will allow a conclusion to this sorry tale.

"a good job well done"
James was excellent - arrived on time, gave a rundown on what was needed and answered all my questions. Left the place near and tidy. Also, his estimate of the time needed was sot on. Very painless for.

"A weird experience"
Got some random texts from a number claiming to be from Openreach but also Sky . My first reaction was that it was a scam . They claimed they had detected issues with my broadband . TBH my broadband is always pretty useless with my constantly having to reboot my router so glitches with Sonos , cameras and Alexa are virtually an everyday occurrence. I didn't know I had any issues outside the norm .I ended up getting a msg to say the work was completed. I rebooted my router , power line adapters etc and now have everything working.. for the time being !
